[...] Weeding through the thick field of job applicants can be a daunting undertaking. Sure, you can make a beeline to the “Neighborhood Specialist,” but we are all neighborhood specialists if you believe the bus benches, the shopping carts, and the leaflets in the flowering shrubs outside your front door. You could just pick the one with the most attractive glamour shot on their yard sign, but then Steve and I would be living out of your guest room or selling our kidneys while the really pretty agents represented you in your transaction. No, the process needs to be more scientific. You owe it to yourself. Link to Full Post. [...]

Kris,

I enjoyed reading your article. I think a spelling test is a fantastic idea that seller's should add to their listing interview. I am always amazed by what agents misspell on their ads. Also, I love the signs you design for each listing with the professional photos and description. What a great idea. You really show how real estate is about focusing on the client and getting their home sold. Thanks for the wonderful words.

Please feel free to visit my blog at www.MayfairDenver.com. Hope you enjoy a few of my postings. Thanks,

Heather -- Agreed! I go crazy every time I see an agent misspell the name of the elementary school or neighborhood. This stuff is just basic. My favorite was one I saw where the agent said, "Walk to (insert school name)!" Not only was the school name not spelled properly and was there the matter of a little equal opportunity violation, but the school in question was not the one that children in this neighborhood attended!

Drew -- We do custom signs for all of our listings now. Our first one will be coming down in a couple of weeks. The buyer has already asked for it. The signs, I suppose, make great (branded) garage ornaments.

Ah the spelling test.... we have a tough one here - but it surrounds the area - The Kaparowitz. Plateau. While I know it's tough, if you don't know how to spell it just type in something close and Congress. Yes, Congress has been messing around with our Kaparowitz. Plateau for years. Point being, local experts should be able to know how to spell it or at least look the dang thing up :)

impressive sign - I have to ask, do you print a custom sign for each listing? What do you do with the sign after you sell the listing?
