The San Diego Home Blog gets a facelift.

It’s Labor Day weekend, and I labored all right. Thanks to Jay Thompson, the Phoenix Real Estate Guy, and his latest great idea, I changed the theme of our site. It was long overdue.

First, a little about Jay. He is the quintessential geeky boy. He writes code in his sleep, and it is widely known in blogging circles that I am a Phoenix Real Estate Guy groupie. I have shamelessly stolen every good idea he ever had (at least, the ones I could understand), and where technology is concerned, I want to grow up to be just like him. So for Jay, my feat is not going to be much of a big deal. For me, this undertaking was about as easy swimming the free style while wearing a concrete jumpsuit, but I did it! I am aware of a couple of tweaks I need to still make, but it’s mostly working fine, and I think my downtime when the final transfer was made totaled only about 15 minutes during the second quarter of the Illinois/Mizzou game. Mizzou won.

Next up is the web site, but that one is going to stay on the back burner — at least until Jay posts another great idea.

Looks great, Kris! And thanks for posting this – I’ve been thinking about doing this ever since Jay mentioned it a month or two ago. But just because he says it’s easy doesn’t mean it’s really easy! ;-)

Now maybe I’ll give it a try as well..

I actually left the feed reader for this … it looks good, Kris!

Chris – So, if I understand you correctly, “If Kris can do it, any monkey can!” :) Good luck. And you are right, by the way.

JD – Honored, of course.

Jay – Stop innovating! I have work to do. :)

Looking good… you should add a “witty remark of the day” as only you can!

The new look is fabulous, darling! Along with the help of the real estate tomato, we are revamping our site. It has been long overdue and needs to look a lot less third gradeish.

I finally looked at the website, rather than through Google Reader. I particularly like the * note in the checker banner. You might want that checker banner to link to either the home page or a mailto link, as it does contain what could be both the http and mailto info — and it is the only image I clicked when trying to go to the home page.

How come I am a blue bug?

Can I make things italics or bold or both?

Kris BergNo Gravatar September 4, 2008 at 3:10 pm

Jim – I think you answered your second question. As for the first, the bugs are for people who don’t have gravatars. Go to gravatar.com, and you can pick an image that will be forever more associated with your email address (on this site and all of the others you like to visit). I’ll expect you to check back to see if you are still a bug. :)
