Everyone is talking about it. Inman News released their 2007 list of the 25 Most Influential Real Estate Bloggers. I wasn’t on it, of course. That is because they are big-fat cheaters. Last time I checked, it is only October, and I do my best blogging work in the fourth quarter. I haven’t even BEGUN to INFLUENCE. You are going to be SO sorry!
Lani took 26th place, and for this I congratulate her. She is so deserving, unless you count the fourth quarter, which Inman News DOES NOT!
So for all of those who were snubbed, we can take comfort in the fact that we personally know many of the fakey-award winners. I shared a beer with Ardelle, I rode to the airport in San Francisco with Kevin Boer, Marlow Harris and Drew Meyers (not technically a winner, but he works for David Gibbons), and I sat next to Noah Rosenblatt at dinner (he made me ask for a separate check). I have exchanged niceties with Joel, Pat, Dustin, Jim, Joe and Todd, and every single one knew my name! Okay, I was wearing a name badge, but the point is they didn’t entirely dismiss me as a blogging suxor. One of the Inman-honored even yelled at me IN PERSON! How’s that for influential? And, don’t even get me started on how tight Glenn and I are. We go way back. Then there’s Greg. True, we have never met, never really spoken, but he has let my thumbnail photo ride on his Inman-honored side bar for, what many would argue, no logical reason whatsoever. I think he was holding out for my inspired FOURTH QUARTER.
So – Here is the award for ME, and for all of my fellow bloggers who were cheated out of the recognition they deserve.
I think this one will look nice on my side bar.

Is there an award for Top 25 Funniest Bloggers?
What about me, Kris?
I stayed at a Holiday Inn once
(and only once)
hi kris!
don’t worry, you’ll time will come
hey, where the heck is my name in your people you know post? i may of had a drink or two at our dinner in sf – so my memory may be a tad bit fuzzy, but i do recall sitting next to you and having a little “conversation”
oh well, maybe next year…..
best,
- rudy
Kris,
For what it’s worth, you are on my Top 25 list.
Oh, BTW, Rudy left this comment that must have got eaten by your spam monster:
hi kris!
don’t worry, you’ll time will come [wink]

Don’t sell yourself short Kris. I didn’t need a name tag to know who you were…
Phil Hoover told me.
Very, very cute, Todd. See you in 2008, Mister!
Kris, the ribbon is awesome- “I know people.” Perfect! Yeah, you were cheated, in a very serious way- who did you piss off or fail to pay for their drink tab?
Great, great ribbon- I love that Greg has featured the ribbon on Bloodhound!!!
Don’t tell Steve, but I think I’m in love with your blogging-style!
You definitely should have been on the list. I am honored to know you, and to have (finally) driven you to the airport.
Next time I get to be your chaffeur to the airport!
I am honored to know you via BHB. Go ahead and tell Steve that I love you, he is going to find out anyway.
Steve – Hurry, come quick! They are fighting over me! I leave for one itty-bitty appointment, and all hell breaks loose.
Dustin and Russell – In two weeks, we will have been married (doing math in head) 21 years. I doubt Steve is the least bit concerned about how sexy you find my blogging. I could walk through the room wearing a traffic cone on my head, and I doubt he would notice unless he sensed there was dinner underneath.
Rudy – If I am not mistaken, it was Joe’s picture that Inman featured, which puts you in the “I Know People” category. You can borrow my ribbon.
Pat – You are aware, are you not, that it is a two-hour drive from the SF business district to the airport? That is very generous of you.
Lani (and Greg) – I saw the gesture. Very funny, especially in the stealth delivery.
Finally, back to Dan – I ignored your comment earlier, because I knew where you were going with it. You would win, and I would be back to designing an “I Know Dan Green” ribbon. So sad, and I am running out of room on my side bar.
Kris-
I love that award. I was thinking the same thing…..funny!
Walking through the room wearing just a traffic cone on your head? Hmmm. Since it’s your birthday on Saturday, that may be a thought.
Steve, I didn’t say “just”, you sicko.
yeah, i’m sure it’s because there are no pictures of me online – now worries ;(
LOVE the badge you made Kris!
I’m thinking I should put the badge on my personal blog – I know people too
Years and years ago the Arizona Republic ran an article with the ten most influential lobbyists at the Legislature. Two days later, everyone else showed up wearing buttons that said “I’m #11!”
I saw that this morning sitting in my truck between class on my laptop thinking… “That list looks somewhat like the address book to my email.” There was about three people/sites on that list I hadn’t seen before. The rest I have exchanged numerous emails with or something along the line.
I like it!
Think about it this way, Kris. There were really only 5 in the agent/broker category. So your button can say “I was #6″.
Given ARDELL reads Kris Berg…that puts you way over me, Teresa and Marlow, as I don’t read those three and I read you
I have to say that your wit and humor are wonderful and it makes it fun to pop over and see what you are blogging about! Even if you didn’t win an award I think you have won some hearts – thanks for the smile!
List, Schmist Kris, keep up the good work.
We all know you’re informed, intelligent and witty. It’s better to be number one in your little part of the U.S. than number twenty five on a national list.
>yeah, i’m sure it’s because there are no pictures of me online
Okay, everyone – I know Rudy TOO! (Geez, men are so sensitive).
Ardelle – I’m not sure I follow the logic, but I think I like it.
Tara and Columbus-Joe – Thank you (blushing).
Of course, inquiring minds want to know who yelled at you?
Maureen – That is so funny that you were the only one to pick up on my throw-away comment. Point of clarification – It wasn’t technically yelling, but it was a terribly unpleasant dressing-down.
You didn’t really think I would name names, did you?
OOO, I think all of us non-winners should display the “I Know People” ribbon.
Can I use it, Kirs, can I, can I ?
CJ- I would be honored!!! Do it!
Love this post! I didn’t make the list either, but I, too “know people”!! Thanks for the chuckle of the day.
Great post Kris, you’re a winner in my book !
Kris, Inman just named you one of the Top 12 bloggers so I wanted to say congratulations and well deserved!
Very funny, Carole. But, thanks.
Kris, congrats on being on of the Top 12 Women! You are an incredible blogger AND female.
What is everyone talking about? I have been out on listing appointments all day. Time to Google.
OK – so tell me one thing…let’s weigh INMANN vs. Sellsius…….I take Joe and Rudy ANY DAY!!! Congrats on the top 12!!
I feel your pain…
