Ask the Brokers

Kristn.jpgYou may have noticed the new page link at the top of our site, Ask the Brokers. This is a concept I swiped from Greg Swann at the Bloodhound, with his permission of course. As a contributor there, I have seen that he gets quite the mail bag of consumer questions. I see this as a way to know better what topics interest our non-industry readers and to post accordingly.

If you have any general real estate questions, feel free to submit your questions using the Ask the Brokers feature. We will do our best to post a response. Rest assured that your personal information (name and email) will remain confidential and will never be shared with others.

I stumbled on your site and am very impressed. I like your how you balance the personal side with the statistics.

Question: I understand that dual agency exists when a realtor represents both the buyer and seller in a transaction. Is dual agency legal in California? How do the large real estate companies handle potential dual agency? For example, how do you represent a buyer when negotiating on a property listed with another Prudential office?

Thanks. I appreciate your time.

Thank you Stephanie! This reminds me that it may be time to revisit the dual agency topic here. With your indulgence, please hang on for 24 hours and I will post on it.
